I Found a NEW Genealogy Helplist Yesterday

As most of you know, I have been cleaning out my “home office.” Yesterday, I found this magazine “Family Tree Magazine” that I had evidently set aside several years ago when I had first thought about researching my family history.
I filled up a large trash bag with the rest of the old magazines, but this one I looked through and found all these 100 web sites. So I ripped out those pages and saved the magazine. I didn't have time to pursue it yesterday because I had my great grandson here all day. In fact, he spent the night and he's still here.
While I was running my Jewelry business from my “home office” I just didn’t have time to research my genealogy. Now that I’m retired, I do have the time.
So, I’m glad I found this magazine. It lists 100 BEST sites for research.
Almost every U.S state is listed, so I found my state and this afternoon, I’m going to go to the web site. I just hope the magazine wasn’t so old that these web sites are out of date. In any case, now that I know each state has something, I will find it the current web site.
I’ve already made a LOT of progress on my genealogy. But, I’m sure that this might be the link I need to fill in some of the blanks and bring my research up to date.
I will let you know what I find out. And if you want the web site for your state, just let me know. OR I'm sure you can find it on your own.

Oh, yes do let us know what you discover. I don't think we have such lists here in Latvia but I will make a search. Since both my parents were born here my genealogy would begin here.

Well, I just tossed the list. It must be way out of date. Everything I tried didn't work. I will have to keep looking I guess.
Everything in PUBLIC records should be FREE to access, but nothing I have looked at yet is FREE so far.
I just may have to pay for a month or two of Ancestry.com. I was trying to avoid that.
