I happen to stumble upon several accounts with their real names attached to it. Each of us has reasons but for me I am quiet afraid to reflect my full name due to fear on identity thief. Even on my social accounts where I keep close attention on who I enlist as a friend. How about you is it alright to reflect your fullname or you stick on your username?

Back in the old days, internet abuses weren't that rampant and we didn't even thought it could happen, thus the real name. I never thought people were so bad in anyway.

@kixsh101 Yup but that didn't happen from the beginning. When we started here in mylot, everybody were friendly and the only abuses then were the star ratings.

On sites like Facebook my personal opinion, for real Networking purposes, it is Best to use your real name. I have no problems there using it, and have been for yrs. But on eBay, Bonanza, Amazon, and Writing sites... I use a nickname. Even with email. Just seems more safer that way.

It depends. I don't use my name and photo here but I use my real name and photo on other sites as I do not like to transact with ghosts too. LOL! If you are serious on having an online business you have to properly introduce yourself but if you are only having fun online no need. On Facebook I have separate accounts for public use and I don't add my relatives there. I have separate acct for relatives and another acct for ex co-workers. Not the same names. I use my real name in public but I use alias (only friends/relatives know that it's me) in private. Can you imagine if the president of the country is anonymous??? Or journalists reporting on TV with cover on their faces??? I am not afraid to use my real identity in public when needed but of course I don't have to post my Passport, SSS ID, and other personal informations.

Oh, puh-leaze! I have a common name anyway so chances are I share the same name with a lot of women. But as far as me, my personality though, it's all me, the real deal!

I don't use my real name on online writing site. My friends just will discover my real name along the way of interacting with my posts. Even at social media, I don't use my real name and I am on a private setting. I only choose my friends whom I know already.
