It is officially too hot here. The air conditioning has been on since 9am.
The kids can't play outside and they're all getting on each other's nerves, so there's been way too much TV on instead (although we did take them over to Michaels for today's kids' craft activity).
They've had ice cream twice today, once because I badly wanted a cheap iced coffee from McDonald's on our way back home (the car had been sitting in the Michaels parking lot for an hour and couldn't cool down quickly enough) and I felt guilty just getting something for myself when their seats were even hotter than mine.
I pulled out cold leftover roast pork and cold leftover rotisserie chicken for dinner because I refused to turn on the stove at all. We had a choice of either carrot sticks or bagged salad on the side.
At least tomorrow should be only a little over 100F.

The temp is supposed to slowly start dropping. It was brutal today with the smoke from the big fire adding to the heat.

Yeah, the sky looked really weird last night with all the smoke in the sky coming from your direction.
It's the biggest brush fire in LA history, isn't it?

@spiderdust They are saying it's the largest in LA history in terms of acres burned.

@JohnRoberts Yeah, I heard it was around 7000 acres.

It's supposed to be 89F/31.66C on Monday. It's hard to think of that as a temperature I'd prefer.

Yikes--that is sweltering! We are just coming out of a heat wave in the bay area! I did a performance of La Traviata on Saturday in 110 degree heat--no air conditioning! Stay as cool as you can and drink lots of fluids!

We had no days this summer that it was extremely hot. September has started with abnormally cool days and nights.

Holy moly, that's too hot even for me! TheCure's "Prayer's for Rain" is appropriate.

I was thinking of Love And Rockets' "Waiting For The Flood", but then I thought of Houston and felt bad.
