Effects of social media on children

I really think that smaller children (below age 12) we need to be careful to what they are exposed to. I don't think it's fair to hide current events from children, but they can also become desensitized because of over exposure to things they just aren't ready to understand. I really think this comes back to parenting though and laying that founding ground of morality. Once they have that, they can better handle and understand what they are seeing as right or wrong.
