Today is the final day of Ganeshji Visarjan or Immersion of Idol of Shri Ganesh in our city. Clay Ganeshji idols were worshipped with turmeric and other natural herbs and plants during Ganapathi Navratri. After the last ritualistic worship, the idol is immersed in nearby stream of water. The idol with the herbs and turmeric is said to promote aquatic life :) This festival reminds us about the protection of environment :)

It looks giant! Whether there was only one Ganeshji Visarjan worshipped? Or there were many to do? Then, I am interesting in what's meaning of it.

@Behindtheguitarbar The idols are taken from our homes after performing all the rituals and immersed in a water body nearby, the idols get submerged and dissolved in the water :)

Yesterday I seen the celebrations by Tamil Nadu state people for the immersion of Ganeshji's idol. They are throwing colour and coloured water on each other and made the immersion journey very colourful. The beating of drums and loud music might have added their spirit.

Sound and colors always add extra energy to the crowds here, children are most happy during that time :)
