We are bombarded with information on foods that negatively affect diabetes. We also hear how lack of exercise aggravates the condition. These things are true. But we must understand, there are other factors that affect sugar levels just as greatly. To what extent depends on the individual. For me stress and negative emotions are a biggie, especially, negative emotions stemming from hurtful relationships. Other factors include lifestyle choices like alcohol and tobacco use. There are certain medications that magnify the effects of diabetes. For example, my dad was diagnosed a few months ago with liver disease. The only treatment they could prescribe at the time was prednisone. Prednisone will cause blood sugars to sky rocket, so my dad had to check his sugar more often, increase his insulin dosage, and become stricter with his diet. Know your body and try to create an environment that is conducive to healthy living.

Well, thank you so much for this information. I really appreciate you sharing these contents as I am now aware with the effects of diabetes to our health. I loved eating chocolates and drinking soda more often, and I would like to avoid these temptations to prevent diabetes. I would like to know the most common signs of having a diabetes.

Type 1 (also known as childhood diabetes) signs are frequent urination, bedwetting, extreme hunger, weight loss, irritability, weak muscles, blurred vision Type 2 (which occurs, usually, in adulthood) signs are excessive thirst, increased urination, excessive sleepiness, weight gain, wounds heal slower or not at all, and in extreme case irrational behavior You mentioned drinking sodas. I have had several people tell me over the years that drinking sodas would make diabetes worse and stop weight gain. I was so addicted to diet pepsi, I would not listen. Two years ago, I decided to cut them out completely. It helped greatly with my weight loss and glucose controls. I don't even want them anymore.
