Volvo of course! You can even see with the untrained eye, that Volvo cars are much stronger and give you a sense of security. Not to mention, that Volvo engines are better built and that they are more robust. I would choose a Volvo over a Ford in no time, if I had the money!:D

Those 2 cars cannot be compared... they belong to different classes... Volvo S60 can be compared only to the Ford Mondeo with a lot of optionals on it... also even if a MoNDEO would be the car Volvo S60 would be compared too... the difference in quality is very very big... from the confort, safety and to the way the car behaves while driving... i don`t think I know a Ford that can mattch this Volvo... maybe models made in the United States... but models made in Germany... no... Volvo is much much better!!!

Depends on how many miles you're doing in a year to be honest, anyone can make a general sweeping comment that Volvo is better! But why? I believe the more popular Focus is diesel and the Volvo isn't? So on that basis if you're travelling alot throughout the year you should have better fuel consumption with a Focus and in these days that's something you especially need. Are you bothered about power? I think the volvo wins that hands down as it has 180bhp and the 1.8 Focus has 115bhp as far as I know, though the diesel edition of the Volvo hits about 160bhp. It seems alot of Ford Diesel cars cut out at low revs and flat spots so I hear, It mainly happens at junctions when you go to pull off at low revs, unlike petrol's you don't have to rev a diesel to pull away as the power is there, however on rare occasions the car has a flat spot and will stall as you let out the clutch. I've also heard the Volvo's have a poor turning cicle and small boot (though so does the Focus), and the price is likely to depreciat rapidly so later on when you come to exchange it/sell it won't be worth much in comparison to what you bought it as. Although the best thing to do is get down to your local dealership and see how you feel in both cars.

Buying a car, any car, is not an investment at all! Investment means that money will add a plusvalue after a period of time! So, you can buy a car (both brands are OK!)for your needs but no investment!
