Treasure Of Ali Baba And The Forty Thieves movie has a director

Maybe I am out of touch with the times as far as movies are concerned when the news came that "Casino Royale" director Martin Campbell will direct the movie that will be written by Mansur Ahmed, Ehud Bleiberg and David Holstein who wrote the latest draft of the classic movie which is two years away from being produced.
I will say I am shocked that the update James Bond 007 movies that stars Daniel Craig are in my opinion were average compared to the earlier versions of the super spy from England.
I am not that familiar with the story of "Ali Baba And The Forty Thieves" but since movies these days are darker, I am not holding my breath that the updated classic movie will be one that I will be rushing to the theaters to see when it comes out. I hope I am wrong though.

Yes I agree, we will have to see what we get with this new version of Ali Baba.

Okay I enjoyed Sean Connery, the late Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Bronsan as James Bond. Craig is okay but his movies look like remakes of the Connery era.

What a dumb movie idea. Ali Baba is a classic but not a good movie basis.
