September 10 is regarded as the Teachers' Day here. I am not sure whether this is only the festival in my country. I don't know why September 10th is chosen. Do you have the similar festival in your side to thank teachers?

There is a Teacher's Day in the UnIted States, but I only know that because my sister is a teacher.

Here we began to celebrate the Teachers' Day in 1985.They say the reason why make it September 10 is that it is not long after start school and there are fewer festivals in September.

I don't know that the Teachers' Day started from 1985. Why it seems in the past we didn't celebrate it? At least I didn't have a day off from school due to it

Normally the teachers and students can go home in the afternoon. And this is the best celebration in my opinion. Of course in the morning there may be a show to celebrate it in school.
