Our daughter and her family in Charleston, SC escaped the worst of the hurricane, no flooding, thank God. They thought Charleston would be in the direct path, then thought they would miss it for the most part, then the flood waters came after all, but not as bad as it could have been. Yesterday they had numerous tornado alerts which was scary. They practiced tornado drills in their house and went to their "safe place." Landon, the 8 year old, packed up some bananas, chips and Pepsi to take to the safe place. He said he didn't want them to "starve to death." I guess he thought they might have to stay in there for days. Thank God they're okay today, although they lost power for a while. Hope all you myLotters were kept safe during all the storms and didn't lose your homes or property. Like Landon, we all need to be as prepared as possible. But sometimes, there's just no preparing for hurricanes and tornadoes.

Glad they are OK. You never know no matter where you live in the World when disaster might strike. They say it never hurts to be prepared ahead of time, but sometimes you just never know.

Yes, it is best to be prepared. It is an awful feeling when one is caught unprepared.
