Philip L Dick meets Charlie Brooker seemed to be the direction of this series opener though with stand-alone stories that might well change as it goes on.
A definite Bladerunner look to the decent sets and acid rain noir look, with Richard Madden pretty wooden as a bargain basement Ewan McGregor trying to impersonate Harrison Ford, complete with cowboy hat fetish. The telepaths forced into such duties struck me as Babylon Five Psi-Corp the early years.
Holiday Grainger was genuinely spell-binding though and the fate of the Teeps was genuinely grim, especially the lady forced to a literal mind-rape by the guy playing out his sick fantasies of what he would do to her even though he doesn’t touch her.
The Teeps destroying the hoods struck me as the wrong move for them – after all, Honor seemed to realize early on that if the Telepaths themselves wear the hoods they block out the voices in the night – the hoods would protect them better than the occasional bad guy who wearing a gimp mask immediately identifies as having plans of committing evil. The hoods should be evidence all by themselves without even needing to deploy the telepath.
In the end it imply settled on the cliff hanger open-ending of guy who betrays really loves her and feels sorry about it, where do they go from there. It seemed rather anti-climatic, but then, PKD often failed to write well rounded endings so in that sense the show captured his essence well.
I’m glad they didn’t use the Phil Oakey - George Moroder song Together In Electric Dreams as the theme tune though the title still leaves that as an ear worm number for me now – fortunately not a bad ong, if the only good thing that ever came out of that movie.

@TiarasOceanView that's a shame - sometimes happens to me with videos others post links to as well

Thanks for the review. Don't think this is really for me but I do love that song. I had almost forgotten about it. Thanks for the link.
