Favorite Acoustic Songs #9 - " Operator (That's Not the Way it Feels)"

It was @NJChicaa that suggested this particular music series, which is a countdown based upon MTV Unplugged. Since I really didn't watch it that much, I am doing an acoustic series instead. We are at #9: "Operator (That's Not the Way it Feels)" by Jim Croce.
"Operator," the opening track on Croce's 1972 album, You don't Mess Around with Jim, is a classic from the singer-songwriter: a one way conversation, as he attempts to find the phone number of an ex, with a telephone operator.
The song reached #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 (and #11 on their Easy Listening chart, and #11 in Canada as well.)
The singer-songwriter genre was very popular in the 70's, and Jim Croce was among the best.
