When suddenly 1000 shoppers rush to buy it.

When suddenly a large volume of shoppers rush out to buy something that is recently advertised it is a form of mind control of sorts. Do you find yourself looking for a product you just feel you have to have and find it has been sold out recently? Because .... my friends, this is like so many products that are advertised on television that people go out thinking I JUST HAVE TO HAVE IT and they go to the store and find it completely missing from the store shelves. They are not out of stock for no reason. It's because ads on television work. They get people to drop everything they are doing and rush to get something just because it was put on television, not because they thought about it on their own. Do you find yourself looking for something that is in short supply and wonder why all of a sudden everyone is thinking they must buy that item, either because it's new, or on sale or that time of year? Think back, and try to remember? If you want to find out if you have been brain washed by ads, just record your favorite t.v. shows, using a Digital Video Recorder, then go watch that show, without fast forwarding the commercials as most people will do. Then the next day when you are out shopping and are looking for something that is on the tip of your tongue that you felt you just had to have that day, then take note of it and go back to review the videos you taped or recorded on DVR the day before. Play back the video recording, fast forward through the scenes and only look at the ads. Do you recognize any ads that may have motivated you to go out and buy something , something you never otherwise would have though about buying? Just a guess, but I think this experiment might have interesting results or maybe not. Maybe, those ads were not what made you impulsively drive to the Jack in the Box to buy the Buttery Jack with Fries at 1 in the morning. Maybe it was something that went right by you at high speed, in a split second, that was only picked up while watching television by your brain on a subconscious level? Just saying.

I don't watch much TV and when I do it is normally Netflix or Youtube for DIY or canning or such. I do know that a lot of people see something and think they need it. I have never been one of those people thou. Now my dad when he was alive he was famous for this. My mom was always complaining about the stuff he bought all the time.

Yep. I know that for sure. like those new gadgets and toys everyone wants to get before they run out so they do, in fact, run out.

I don't have to worry about running after popular things to buy. I cannot afford to make any big expenditures. Besides two books that were on sale there really isn't anything I want to buy.
