Detroit Tigers general manager Al Avila has decided not to renew the contract of the current field manager of his team Brad Ausmus.
Ausmus had no Major League Baseball managerial experience when he took over the team in 2014 after Jim Leyland resigned at the end of the 2013 baseball season.
Ausmus in his four years managing the Tigers led the team to the playoffs in his rookie year but the Tigers did not qualify to make the playoffs in the last three seasons.
At least Ausmus was not fired before the end of the 2017 Major League Baseball season by Avila since the Tigers are currently in a rebuilding mode for the near future.
I am sure Brad will land on his feet either as a coach or broadcaster next baseball season.

I remember when he played for the Rockies. I wish him well.

As if it was Ausmus' fault the team overspent for players, Cabrera is aging, and Avila trading away good players for bad returns.
