The 1999 version of Sleepy Hollow, starring Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci, and Casper Van Dien, is riveting. Director, Tim Burton, is genius as usual. Having seen several renditions of this movie, based on Washington Irving's THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW, this is by far my favorite. The deviation from the original literary work can be described as science meets the supernatural. In keeping with Irving's theme, is the dark and foreboding atmosphere. The casting in the movie is perfect. All characters work in such harmony, the story appears to actually be unfolding before the viewers eyes. It seems more truth than fiction. This movie, that I will be watching again tonight, would get a 10 out of 10, more if it were possible.

I haven't seen the movie in such a long time. I do like it quite a bit. I think it's well done. Maybe I'll watch it in October for Halloween.

Is it suspense or horror? I never watch horror shows - suspense I can handle.

It is more suspenseful. It has some scary moments, but I wouldn't label it horror. It is not like Nightmare on Elm Street or the Halloween movies.
