The Plumber Was Supposed to Call and Didn't

I called our rental company this morning to let them know about the leaking garbage disposal. The lady I spoke to said that the plumber would give me a call to arrange a time to come out and fix it.
The plumber is a different guy than the general maintenance man, but he is still a bit rude. Though I think that's just a cultural difference so it doesn't bother me as much as the maintenance man does. The plumber is this little Asian guy who is sometimes hard to understand, which is probably frustrating for him. The maintenance guy is just a jerk. He is a typical "alpha male" who thinks he's god's gift to women and he acts put out by the fact that he has to do his job. He used to be all sweet and flirty with me until he realized I was in a relationship, then I got put on his "be a jerk to" list. Anyway I don't like him. I was relieved to hear he wasn't going to be the one handling this problem.
Although the plumber never called today like he was supposed to. Maybe he was out of town, since the last few times I've dealt with him he told me he also works in Sacramento doing repairs for a company there. Usually he is very quick about coming over and taking care of problems because he doesn't like leaving anyone waiting over the weekend with a leak. I'm a bit annoyed that he didn't even call about it today, but maybe he was too busy to or there's also the possibility that the rental people didn't even notify him yet, which is what happened when our air conditioner went out and we were without AC for several days. My boyfriend finally went down to talk to the rental people in person and it turned out that the email they sent the AC repair place had never been received. Once they straightened that out, they came out the next day and fixed the air conditioner. So there could be a number of reasons why the plumber didn't call today, but that still doesn't change the fact that I have a leaking garbage disposal which I cannot currently use -- in fact I can't even run water down that side of the sink without it leaking. So I do hope they hurry up and fix it come Monday.

Yep. It's rather annoying how long they make us wait to have repairs made.

He changed his attitude when he found out your in a relationship. He definitely wants to get laid, such a plastic kind of guy. THat's the thing with service, they are so sweet with words luring you into their property and then gets cold when you are already in it.

Exactly! It's really offensive when people act like that, and then it makes you question other people's motives when they are overly friendly or nice to you.

Thank you. If I haven't heard anything by Monday afternoon I'll probably call them back and make sure the plumber has been notified.

Thanks, me too. I hate it when things break around here and then we have to wait on them to send someone out to fix it.

Unfortunately it's hard to get approved to rent anywhere in our area, and most places are out of our price range. So we just put up with their crap. I imagine most of the other rental companies probably aren't much better, since I've heard other people complain about them. A lot of landlord/rental management companies are just lazy and don't want to deal with anything.

@Courtlynn Right. Every so often we get a new landlord because the old one sells the building, but all they do is raise the rent.
