Packers vs. Bengals

For a game I thought would be an easy win, we played poorly. Aaron Rodgers got sacked five or six times. We were down at the half 21-7 and it didn't look good. Second half we started making points and closing the gap. We got a touchdown bringing it within 7 with a win possible. However, they lengthened the gap with a field goal. We answered with a field goal and once again brought it within a touchdown. Seventeen seconds left in the fourth - Rodgers throws to Jordy Nelson in the end zone and ties the game. Game goes into OT. Believe me I was no longer sitting in my recliner. Cincinnati won the toss and elected to receive. Aaron Rodgers has never won in OT. I'm sitting, thinking the worst. We stopped them. I'm no longer sitting. We got the ball back. Two first downs later with a long pass and catch, the field unit comes on. Crosby kicks the field goal and the Packers win 27-24. The crowd at the stadium wasn't the only ones going wild. I was having my own shouting victory clapping hooting dance going on in my living room. And I thought this was going to be an easy win. Cincinnati hasn't had a touchdown yet this season, so they get three in the first half. They haven't won a game yet this season, but almost did against the Pack, but we were able to stop them. Aaron Rodgers did break touchdown records with 302 touchdowns at this time in his career. It didn't look good for the Pack. The Bengals were all over our guys from the beginning. They stopped us any way they could. We were lucky to come away from this one with a win. Before the game started I did see Chicago win in OT as well over Pittsburgh. Chicago will be here Thursday night. At least we'll be evenly matched for practice time before that game. If you watched football today, how did your teams fare? Thanks for reading.

Girl I almost had a heart attack. I was yelling and screaming and then in OT, I had my fingers, arms, legs, toes crossed. Go Pack. My Cowboys last night 'almost' lost to the cards. Hell, we didn't even have our first TD until 1:11 left in the first half. We finally got ahead in the 4th Q. 28/17 @just4him .

I'm glad your team won. So will you be watching on Thursday when the Pack plays the Bears - the oldest rivalry in football? They also won their game on Sunday in overtime.

Congrats on your team winning! I watch Rugby and usually hoot and clap during a game, but lately my team has been a major disappointment. Good luck against Chicago! :)

@bluesa So do I. It's always a great game with these two teams. Our rivalry goes back to the beginning of football more than 75 years.

I'm a Packers fan. I'm not a football fan. Football fans watch all the games. I only watch the Packers.

Now that sounds like a very exciting game and one nail bitter to boot. Glad you had a victory dance in your living room and I bet all your neighbors were joining in. Glad the Packards pulled it off and came back to win the game.
