Today is Monday, September 25, 2017 and the hot subject of the late morning for me is Reality TV & how it has become America's new Real-Time Soap Opera television drama. THIS IS NOT A SURVEY. This is a discussion about Reality TV vs SO and your opinion does matter. Happy myLotting everyone. The ratings don't lie. Soap operas are on the way out and Reality TV is taking over by a storm. Since the days of our lives, literally speaking, when mobile phones with cameras and Facebook text messaging and Skype have become the no. 1 information and communications methods among other well known places online, people now seek more dynamic and real-time access to events and what better way to provide this than Reality TV? I personally watch the following daily drama TV shows: Bold & Beautiful - Young & Restless - General Hospital I occasionally watch the following TV Reality Shows: Big Brother - Amazing Race - Hell's Kitchen - Master Chef - Survivor Name one of your favorite soap operas and then one of your favorite Reality TV shows and give me a comparison as to which you favor most. If you are not into watching television or streaming media, this topic would not be for you. But for those of you who are familiar and actually like watching Reality TV and/or Soaps, just give me a few of your personal choices and tell me WHY you like that show or HATE it. The link below tells what FORBES has to say about this topic:

It is because to me I am less of a Reality TV buff but have watched Soaps all my adult life and miss the ones that were taken off due to lost ratings, such as - One Life To Live, Passions, Sunset Beach & All My Children, to name a few of my past favorites.

@lookatdesktop I've never been interested in soaps. I've always thought the acting was dismal and the storylines repetitive and unbelievable. But to each their own.

Good discussion topic! Well, lately I am back to watching the Young and Restless every day (or record it every day and then binge watch.) I have a habit of continiuing to watch that one until there comes along a storyline that they just drag out too darn long. And then I'll stop watching it for awhile, try it again later. Reality wise, my mother and I watch The Amazing Race. Neither of us watches any of the "housewives" show or Kardashians or such. The Amazing Race is fun and exciting, but then it's a competition show. Between my soap and the Amazing Race, I have to say in general I enjoy the race more. Part of that is I have someone else who likes it watching with me. For the soap, I'm on my own.

Yes, I too share time with my wife, who is the one who enjoys the soaps more than I do but I watch them sometimes just to be in her company. Such reality or competition shows like America's got Talent & Dancing W T Stars & American Idol are also the ones I enjoy most if I share it with my wife and/ sometimes when a friend comes over to visit in the evenings.
