It has been a week since I noticed there was a small cut and cracks on the side of my mouth, both sides. The cracks are causing lots of pain when I eat because I cannot open my mouth to eat properly. Everytime I try to put a spoonful of food into my mouth, I had to open small mouth. Otherwise the crack and cut would widen and turn reddish. I tried apply Vaseline petroleum jelly, it didn't cure the cracks. I tried aloe vera gel, the problem retained the same. Then I searched online that anti fungal cream should be able to treat the fungal or bacteria problem on the cracks of my mouth. It had healed one side only. Do you have this problem? How do you treat it?

It is Vitamin deficiency which led to fungal infection I guess The cream needs to be applied many times a day with proper hygiene

@peachpurple Visit a doctor if the problem persists for more than 7 days even after applying the antifungal cream.

I used to get this a lot as a kid. I used to put chapstick on it and they healed after a while.

My mom got these and she said it can be a vitamin deficiency, Vitamin B- I think 6 or a fungal infection. She took the Vitamin and used a fungal cream. Not sure which worked but it is gone now and she hasn't had it for a while.

@peachpurple Your welcome, I know she said they hurt and if it can help I'd rather say something then allow someone to stay in pain.

I have never had this problem but if it doesn't heal you might want to see the doctor.

I've had it, but not in a long time. It takes a long time to heal.
