Favorite Acoustic Songs #1 - "Malaguena"

It's time to put this one to rest. @NJChicaa suggested a music series based upon MTV Unplugged. Unfortunately, I rarely had the opportunity to watch it, so I'm doing a countdown of my Favorite Acoustic Songs instead. We have reached #1, and the top spot belongs to "Malaguena," as performed by Roy Clark. "Malaguena" was composed in 1928 by Ernesto Lecuona. While it is quite popular as an acoustic guitar piece, Lecuona recorded the song on piano. In fact, "Malaguena" remained a piano standard until Carlos Montoya turned it into an acoustic guitar tune. In addition to Roy Clark, the song has been covered acoustically by Jose Feliciano, and Paco de Lucia, among others. In fact, on You Tube, there is a video of Charo absolutely nailing it. There are also vocal versions, and even college marching bands have been known to play it, particularly the University of Massachusetts, and the University of Minnesota.
