I am discovering that my English grammar is not good.

Most of the grains of rice I have earned to donate at www.freerice.com were earned by doing a vocabulary quiz in English. And I was very proud of myself.
But as I decided to earn 2000 grains a day, I got bored with the same subject and tried others.
First I tried chemistry (table of elements) and discovered that in over 50 years we forget what we have learned. So I decided to check my English grammar and found out that my grammar there is miserable
So, as what I really need is to earn rice, I turned back to vocabulary. I feel proud of myself as I do it well and I reach my daily goal

Very good. I think most people are very smart that know more than one language.

I check some words in English thanks to the computer. I hope some day I will learn that English has a lot of words with 2 consonants one after the other
. But grammar escapes me. Spanish is much easier

@marguicha This is the reason that I hate text speech. It provided an opportunity for people not to bother learning correct spelling or grammar.
I only use correct English in a text message.

@Asylum My grandchildren text in an awful Spanich. And when I taught at the university, I told my students that I was no Champollion. I would grade only what I could understand easily.

I know. It happens to people in Spanish too. And emailing and cellphone messages don´t help improve the grammar of the new generation.

It's good to hear freerice is still around! I used to do that a long time ago, but perhaps it's time to start again as it is for a good cause
. I guess we learn things there too . . . even if it's about discovering things about ourselves

I remember we used to use this website a lot in school but I forgot about it completely. English grammar is a pain, I have a Bachelor's in writing and you think I would be good at grammar...Nope! Haha But at least you know vocabulary, that is great! Sometimes it is better to have an extensive vocabulary than it is for grammar. Because, at least the computer can pick up grammar mistakes, hehehe

As my native language is Spanish, I don´t have too many problems with words with Latin roots. And I have read a lot of English classics in English. That also helps.
