Any Idea For A Halloween Meal?

Yes, I am looking for ideas what to cook for a Halloween dinner. My Filipino German MAGAZINE publisher was asking me to write about Halloween food or Christmas food for our magazine. I am thinking of writing about recipes for Halloween instead of Christmas. Thinking about scary looking like food turned me off but it is a challenge for me. I have to create new recipes for the magazine and of course I have to try the food first before I will let it published. Of course I will let my hubby and friends try the food first. Pumpkin! I have already an idea about pumpkin dessert. I still have to think about pumpkin starter and other pumpkin food. Is it only pumpkin for Halloween? Are there any kind of food which is made especially for Halloween? Any Idea? I still have time to think and create these menus . Until then, I am searching online what food is good for Halloween. It should be my recipe though because I will be paid for this. The photo was our dinner last night made by me for the first time and it was so good. Now I no longer wonder why my hubby is not losing weight

Thank you @Tampa-girl7. Now you give me an idea of an apple rolled in a pastry and with marzipan filling. Yummy!

Here in our place, it is usually sticky rice/glutinous rice that people usually have for the Halloween. Sometimes it is made into cakes, rolls, etc. combined with coconut or other local nuts.

If it's Filipino -German then maybe you can introduce to them the idea that most Philippine provinces cook sticky rice or "malagkit" during the " kalag kalag" if your familiar with that. Sweets from sticky rice is the tradition but you could also introduce dishes liks "arroz ala Valenciana"

My family usually makes little pigs in a blanket from li'l smokey sausages (you can wrap the biscuit around them so they look like a mummy) and "monster eye" meatballs (which are just meatballs with a green olive poked in the top.) Also deviled eggs with olives made to look like spiders on top are another food we sometimes make. Last year my mom made "jack-o-lantern" stuffed peppers out of orange bell peppers, which were pretty good.

I got this recipe off another web site to make for Halloween. I thought the recipe was so easy and came out so cute I decided to post it.

@thelme55 . . Nope! boiled white rice and sinigang-fish-hipons. We bought the fish-hipons in Asian market. I think imported from Ilocos Sur, Philippines . . Right, @ilocosboy? . . They call in Ilocos Sur - - IPON!
