Even though the Philadelphia Phillies are not going to make the playoffs this year, the management of the Phillies has decided to allow their manager Pete Mackanin manage the team for the remaining three games of the current baseball season. However Mackanin will be moving upstairs as the assistant to Phillies general manager Matt Klentak when the 2018 Major League Baseball season begins. Mackanin managed the Phillies for two seasons before he was notified that he would not return to manage the team that has not made the playoffs since 2011.
