Some words on duties

I have been quite immersed lately in my spiritual pursuit and the more I dive deep into understanding who I am, I feel the need to enlighten my brothers and sisters around the world too. When I joined myLot almost a decade ago, I was a very young man who was entirely different from who I am now. I am still a young man, on my twenties but life has taught me a lot or may be I was stubborn and ardent to grasp and understand more and more. Today, I want to share what I have understood recently on duties. I do not accept all that scriptures tell me. I scrutinize and embrace what I believe is right, just, fair, pure, moral and true. I believe that our duties should be at the forefront of our lives. We must be aware of our duties and this awareness must lead us to fulfill them. We should not allow emotions to come in the path of our duties for emotions can divert our minds, but our knowledge of our duties will not. For example, you have witnessed a theft at the house of your neighbor and the thief was your brother or father. Your moral duty at that moment is to reveal who was behind the theft case and not to protect your brother or father. Protecting the thief is the outcome of emotions curtailing your duties but being just and fair in whatever situations, is an outcome of being aware of your duties. I would love to hear your views too on this.
