Lessons Learned From Volleyball-#2

My daughter had another game tonight. The referees made some really bad calls. This is the third time this season, we have encountered this. Our girls still won two of the games in spite of the bad calls. Tonight our girls lost. My daughter came off the court crying. Never once did she blame the loss on the crappy referees. She looked at me and said, "I feel like I let my team down; I just made too many mistakes". She took responsibility for her failures. Actually she took more than her responsibilities. The point is, life is not fair. We will encounter unethical and unjust people. We can't, though, allow their mistakes to keep our eyes off our own mistakes. We must own are actions and attitudes and then move forward to do better. The volleyball team sat down with the coach and discussed how they could improve for the next game. These girls will make our future better.

That's a great attitude on and off the court.

That kind of attitude is a great one and you should be proud of her. I hope they win the next game.
