Book Review- DEAREST FRIEND / myLot

Authored by Lynne Whitney and published in 1981, this book brings to life the story of Abigail Adams, wife of the 2nd American president, John Adams. Often these historic figures seem fictional and irrelevant. DEAREST FRIEND, however, reveals the strength, wisdom, humanity, failures, victories, and heartaches of a woman who seems larger than life. This book could fall under the genres of history, romance, inspiration, and drama. This is one of those books that one would enjoy reading more than once. I give it a 10 out of 10.

Thanks for bringing the book to our notice. Some of the first ladies were truly worthy of their position. It can be said that they were true friends of their husbands and provided valuable support to the presidents in the great responsibility of leading the country.
