Harvey Weinstein Thought His Behavior Was OK in the 1960s

The famous movie producer, Harvey Weinstein, has been accused of sexual harassment by a number of well-know actresses and female employees of his production company.
He has admitted his behavior was wrong, but said as a defense that workplace behavior was different in the 1960s and 1970s, when he first started out.
I was a teenager in the 1960s and a young working adult in the 1970s, and I never heard of anyone engaging in the types of behaviors he has been accused of.
I can remember co-workers telling lewd jokes or making suggestive comments to me. I can even remember having a boss who invited me to go away for the weekend with him (which I declined.)
However, I never experienced anything close to the behavior which Harvey Weinstein has admitted to. For example, he repeatedly asked young actresses in his movies and other female employees to come to his hotel rooms, give him massages, watch him take a shower, tuck him in before bed, or wake him up in the morning. These activities are way beyond telling a dirty joke.
I cannot imagine there is any possible way anyone would have considered those behaviors acceptable, even in the 1960s or 1970s.
I would have been horrified if a co-worker or boss had expected me to be involved in anything like that.
Is there anyone who honestly believes Harvey Weinstein's behavior would have been acceptable in the 1960s or 1970s?

@KristenH - I agree that there was never a time in my life when that behavior would be condoned. How could he ever imagine it was OK?

@KristenH - I'm glad you agree that this behavior is despicable today and was also despicable back in the 1960s and 1970s.

No, using one's authority and power to coerce or pressure others to do such things was not acceptable then or any time.

@1hopefulman - I agree. It is always terrible when someone uses their power to take advantage of other people.

@jstory07 - I agree. I think his excuse that he was a young adult in the 1960s and 1970s is absolutely ridiculous!

@DianneN - I agree there was never a time when that would have been acceptable. His behavior was disgusting and I feel sorry for the poor young girls who were afraid to expose what he was doing.

@DianneN - I agree that he was a pig and took advantage of these young women. What a monster! I'm glad he has been stopped.

@DeborahDiane They were either afraid he'd stop their careers before they got started, or were embarrassed. The pig!

This entire example of Hollywood hypocrisy is an insult and appalling.

@JohnRoberts - I agree that it is an insult to our intelligence and very appalling. Surely no one believes that was ever acceptable behavior.

Not only he rapes women, he also underpays the actresses that starred on his movies.

@DeborahDiane It baffles me that some of my favorite movies are produced by him. Now I am thinking that many of the actresses who worked with got abused by him.

@CaptAlbertWhisker - I'm sure you are right that many of the actresses in our favorite movies were abused by him. That is so disgusting.

@CaptAlbertWhisker - There is nothing acceptable about the way he has taken advantage of women over the years.
