Favorite Industrial Songs #8 - "Control I'm Here"

The "theme" of this particular music series focuses on an entire genre: industrial music. We are at #8 as I countdown my favorite industrial songs: "Control I'm Here" by Nitzer Ebb. Based upon their name and aggressive musical style, you could be forgiven for assuming that Nitzer Ebb is from Germany. However, the band, led by the only constant, Bon Harris (vocals/programming/synthesizers/drums/bass,) hails from Essex, England. In America, at least, the group is probably best known for their singles "Join in the Chant" and "Fun to Be Had." From their 1989 album, Belief, the muscular "Control I'm Here" did ok as the first single from that record. It might have stalled at 100 in the UK, but here in the US, it hit Top 40 on two Billboard Charts, #14 on the US Dance chart, and #25 on the US Modern Rock chart. Video-wise, the band performs the tune live at the 2010 Mera Luna Festival in Germany. I saw Nitzer Ebb open for Depeche Mode on that band's Violator tour. This video is a good indication of what I saw that afternoon. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

It was a great show. Of course, being at Red Rocks made it that much better.

I never heard of them, but seems to have lots of fans. Sounds like they put on a great live performance.

Okay, now that sounds a little more industrial-like (or what I perceive industrial to sound like).

My favorite song of theirs is "Getting Closer". Are you familiar with Fixmer/McCarthy?

That was a treat. "Getting Closer" is one of my favorites by them. But I'm going to have to look up Fixmer/McCarthy, though.
