Dishing The Dirt! Who?

Some people like to spread damaging information and intimate details about others, whether true or not. It is called "gossip" whatever it's called, people use "gossip" to hurt people. They do this to feel good about themselves, and to feel like they have power over others. Do you agree or disagree? Do you know someone who "gossip" all the time?

When I listen to someone speak and I hear them "talking" about this person or that person I tend to try and keep them at at distance. I don't like people who gossip. I try not to be one, though I have said things without knowing 100% the actual facts.
I have been in situations where I know the truth of something that was going on, and someone began to gossip about it and I let them know quickly that I know the truth because I was there where I saw and heard what had taking place. The person turned red faced and quite quickly. I think it is good to confront them when one knows the truth.

Most of the people around me gossip. I am guilty of that sometimes. But I don't make up stories. And I don't volunteer giving information. It's when someone asks me about another person I dislike, then I have something to say. But normally I don't share any bad stories. But I am guilty of gossiping myself. Who isn't?
