It hadn't rained for a couple of months. The grass got brown and was crunchy underfoot. The burn bans were set in place. We finally got rain this past week. Someone at knit group mentioned that we got 2 inches of rain one day. We got enough rain over the past week that the grass is now GREEN again!!
~~The photo you see is one I took a few years ago. The grass was nice and cool under my feet.

Rain is such a blessing! I love everything about rain...the sight, the smell, and the feeling after it's over.

I think it rained here on Sunday. I was taking the trash out back to the trash bin and I could smell the rain coming. As I was walking back to my place, it started raining. By the time I got here, my hair was soaked!!

@bluerubymoon53 I just learned recently that there's a word for the smell of rain, it's "petrichor".

We have had rain for the past few days. It is gloomy outside right now with a chance for rain. I love rain. That grass looks so soft. I bet it felt like a plush carpet under your feet!

It actually DID feel rather plush under my feet! I hadn't step on grass while bare-footed in I don't know how long. It felt so good.

@bluerubymoon53 The things we take for granted when we grow up. I have not seen grass that plush in a while that I could get out and run around barefoot in.

Believe it or not, here in WA State, Seattle area to be exact, we are still lacking rain compared to what we normally get. We are enjoying the No rain here even though we still do need more of it.

One of the knit group ladies was in Seattle 2 or 3 weeks ago. She said it rained part of the time she was there.

I really don't like the rain mainly because of the background, it is grey lol. The grey skies make the days gloomy and low feelings. I prefer the heat where it is all bright even if its hot, I don't mind the heat. The only times I would like the rain is on the holiday season because of the spirit feelings lol.

Yeah. I know it's grey when it rains. But think of the grass that turns green and the gardens that get watered!

During the fall season, it can rain quite a bit or not enough where I am. I hope we get plenty of rain so that it won't be so dry.

The funny thing is in my backyard it could rain for hours and the brown spots in the grass still remain.

Hmmm. I wonder why that is? Do the brown spots eventually turn green?

It looks like ALL of California could use some rain. Would need a lot of rain to put the fires out!!!
