Band names. I am counting down my Favorite Band Names in this particular series, and we are at #7: We Are Going to Eat You. We Are Going to Eat You began life in 1980 as Hagar the Womb, lasting until 1986 (and again from 2011 to present,) changing the name to We Are Going to Eat You in 1987. Under that moniker, the band only released one studio album, along with two EP's and one single. After recording the 1990 album, Everywhen, they changed their name to Melt before releasing the followup album. Despite forming in the 80's, We Are Going to Eat You was a typical 90's British band fronted by a female, such as The Heart Throbs, that were quite popular at the time. As for the video, it's one you might remember from MTV's 120 Minutes. If you notice one thing, it's probably going to be vocalist Julie Sorrell, who possibly has the most striking, pretty eyes you might have ever seen. Oh, it's a great song as well. Ha. We were just talking about Jeffrey Dahmer, too.

Why didn't Julie Sorrell enjoy more notoriety. Sometimes who succeeds and doesn't in music is baffling.

Constantly changing the name probably didn't help, especially one that is most likely going to drive people away.

Hagar the Womb isn't a bad name, either. Good vocals! I wonder if the name might have turned some people off. I mean, I had a tape by a band called Sacrilegious Toejam (bought it for the song "Smurfs Suck")...don't see that name attracting the masses.

No, that is a band name that I don't see crossing into the mainstream anytime soon.
