Face it. Some bands have cooler names than others. I am counting down my 10 Favorite Band Names, and we are at #6: Pink Turns Blue. Led by vocalist/guitarist Mic Jogwer, Pink Turns Blue formed in Cologne, Germany, in 1985. The band broke up ten years later, but have been back at it since 2003. Beginning as a goth band, the group is often credited as an influence on the dark wave subgenre (basically, a cross between goth and synth pop, as practiced by bands such as Clan of Xymox, and Razed in Black.) Counting a Best of/Rarities CD, Pink Turns Blue has released 12 albums. Because they are from Germany, I figured it would be easier to buy their stuff while I was there, but could not find them in the record stores. So I asked the girl at the register if I could special order some. "This is really a band?" she finally asked after looking at me like I was crazy. After we got that sorted out, yes, they are, in fact, a real band, she ordered it for me. Got it within two weeks! There are lots of poor quality live versions of the song I'm using, "Walking on Both Sides," so I've linked to the studio version. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

You mean the band's name wasn't inspired by Pink discovering she has no talent and turned blue about it?

In Stuttgart they had one that was five stories, one floor for vinyl, one for CD's, etc.

I really like that song. I listened to "I Coldly Stare Out," too. They didn't borrow the name from the Husker Du song, did they?

I don't know. I thought about that, too. I didn't see anything about it.

I like this one, his voice reminds me a little of David Bowe.

Fronting The Cure! He reminds me of someone, but I am drawing a blank.
