Is immortality a life's goal?

Amongst today's mind-boggling leaders, Tibet's Dalai Lama is one to admire. He is a fascinating character, reflecting the old but keeping up with the new.
One of the several sayings that he lives by is this: Share your knowledge, it is your pathway to immortality.
I believe that, of course, because we become immortal by the wisdom we bequeath our fellow man. As Michaelangelo lives in his majestic sculptures in the Sistine Chapel, and Michael Jackson lives in his groovy pop music, and Michael Jordan still lives (joke).
We are ordinary people. Would you want to be immortal, too? Would you make it your life's goal?

You must be referring to the fountain of youth. Yup, I also can't seem to the dissect the minds of those who want to live forever.
But would like to be remembered for something when you finally leave this earth? What legacy would you like to be cherished?

@eileenleyva legacy? I just want to be remembered as someone who made everyone so happy, yet I myself was lonely... Haha I don't know, it's pretty weird I guess

@Alian123 it is all right to be lonely. Do you know that Jesus walked to all the lonely places? And yet, when He walks with His apostles and talks and heals the people, He brings joy and healing.
I do enjoy my loneliness, too, because without it, I couldn't feel the joy of happiness.
Keep on. Make your loneliness a meditation time. Talk to our Almighty Father. He loves listening.

I would prefer to live forever (or become immortal) not by any works that I leave behind but with the consciousness and personality that I possess. Is that possible? That's what the Bible is all about!

@eileenleyva I am like one brick in a building. I am only noticed if I'm not there but can be replaced by another brick. I am liked and loved because I only want good for people and am constantly working on that, even if what I do is very small compared to th enormity of the task.

Would you like to describe your self? Why do people love you? Or like you?

@1hopefulman How humble thou art, Felix. I am a brick, too, but not as humble as you are. Here's what, I'd stand the line with you, for all your good endeavor.

The only immortality that really suits us for good is the immortality with GOD in heaven. Of course, Sorry for those who chose eternity of torment.

Hello knight, you changed your code name. It is good to see you again.
Yup, you are absolutely right about eternity in Heaven with our God.
But if there is something you might like to be remembered by, what would it be? Last time I was at mylot, you were at the crossroads of life. Have you finally found your corner of the sky?

It is a goal that very few can achieve it.
But of course there are also people who have immortality by their name not by wisdom or their talents but by cruelness, lots of them... Nero is one
