Have You Ever Been Bitten By A Venomous Snake?

Recently, a young man that I know, was bitten by a Copperhead snake. He was taken to the hospital, but released without any treatment.
Then, his leg and foot began to swell, so they took him back to the hospital.
He was treated with anti-venom which SHOULD have been administered the first time.
He is still recovering at home. After several weeks now, he has been walking with crutches but must keep his leg elevated when he sits down.
He told me that the bite itself was more like a bee sting, but the pain and swelling came later.
This same young man fell last year from a skateboard, and broke his leg. Poor guy! He has really had some painful experiences here lately.
Have you ever been bitten by a snake or do you know someone who has?

No, I haven't and I don't know anyone who has been. I hear the stories in the news though. If I was that guy, I think I would sue the hospital that failed to treat him right the first time.

No, and if it ever happened to me, I would die of a heart attack.

It's interesting that you should say that, because I had heard several years ago, that more people die from a non-venomous snake bite than those who have been bitten by a venomous snake, because they go into shock and die of a heart attack.

@LeaPea2417 Yes, they say, don't panic! It makes the blood circulate faster.

No I have never been bitten nor do I know of anyone who has been bitten. Hate snakes unless they are in cages or behind glass at aquariums.

I'm not deathly afraid of snakes but I don't want to handle them in any way. There is a woman in a nearby neighborhood who has dozens of snakes in her house. I don't like to think about it.

I have never been bitten by a snake, but one of my relative have been bitten by snake a number of times. In the area where she lives ,there are snakes. In the night its very difficult to know if snake is there or not. Whenever she visits our house she tells that a snake bit her. I am really scared to go to her house after listening to this...
