The lighting of the house mark the beginning of Deepawali festival.

Deepavali or Diwali is a very long festival of the Hindus all over the world. The festival begins with Dhanteras. But before Dhanteras, people buy lights and light their houses. Houses are cleaned, new curtains, bed covers are placed, rangoli and alpona are given with rice husk in the floors of the houses.
