Can you teach something to anyone who doesn't want to learn anything?

That was the question that a friend of mine (who works as a teacher) asked me after an exhausting day of work (after giving 15 lessons in 15 classes in just a single day

I honestly don't see how someone who is already determined not to learn anything can actually learn something. It may even seem like a pessimistic view of the situation, but I think it's practically impossible to do that.
