Under the "You have to be kidding me" department of sports reporting, the Washington Nationals are seeking permission to speak with Houston Astros bench coach Alex Cora after the conclusion of the American League Championship Series on Saturday when the Astros host the New York Yankees in Game Seven of the ALCS.
First of all getting rid of Dusty Baker after two seasons by not renewing his contract in my opinion was a dumb move by the Nationals ownership.
Now Cora does not any managerial experience in the Major League Baseball level except as an interim manager in the absence of Astros manager A. J. Finch.
The only reason that the Nationals would hire Cora is that he did baseball for the team in 2011 before he retired in the spring of 2012.
However the Boston Red Sox are also interested in interviewing Cora to fill the vacancy after John Farrell was terminated after the conclusion of the American League Divisional Series versus the Houston Astros at the end of the 2017 baseball season
As that satire magazine named Cracked claims 'Something funny is going on here.".

The Cubs released Chris Bosio, their pitching coach, so why not interview him. We see how well having a pitching coach for a manager is doing in Cincinnati....

That would be a great idea to interview several candidates for the Nationals post.

Alex has been very outspoken about the lack of Latino managers in the Major Leagues recently.
