The Worst trailer ever - Murder on the Orient Express - 2017

I thought the whole point of a movie trailer was to make you want to see the film. This one seems hell bent on saying, 'this is crap. I wouldn't bother if I was you.'
With a great film version already out, tarring Albert Finney as Poirot, and the David Suchet TV version also well worth a look, this had some work to do. Kenneth Branagh seems decent enough casting but the trailer suggests he dug up the corpse of Jimmy Edwards to get the moustache, and borrowed the accent off Inspector Clouseu.
The cast are introduced by their jobs making it look like a big game of Cluedo, especially as most people will know the ending anyway. The trailer itself seems to be giving clues on that.
Having the train trapped on a precarious bridge and scenes of people walking on top of it makes it look like this could become an action movie though if true to the book there is only one death in it. That is bound to disappoint some viewers.
I can't think of a trailer that so put me off caring about a film as this one -

I agree. What a pointless remake and it looks bad to boot. How can you top Finney and Suchet and God knows, we know whodunnit.

I only caught the last bit of this movie and I was so glad I did not waste the time to watch the entire thing. It really was terrible.

@arthurchappell They certainly did put the nail in the coffin on that production. It was an all-star lineup but a big ole flub!

@arthurchappell If the trailer isn't appealing enough to watch, it's going to do poorly in the movie theaters and tank.

Well, I want to see it.
I haven't seen the original films or telly shows, nor have I read the book. I never found it appealing. However, this film trailer does appeal to me, so I shall go and I shall tell you if it's truly rubbish or not. :)

I saw the trailer once, and i do not even remember a lot of the details, unfortunately..
nothing stood out, i guess they were just confident that people would go see the film because of the big stars the movie has, and from the fans of the book
