Capital one credit card stinks....

I am angry and want to vent. I paid off all my balance on Capital one last month, reducing it to a zero balance. A few days ago, while out of town with my wife, I put $20.00 worth of gas on my car. When I got the statement, I saw a $25.00 interest charge slapped on my account. Believing that this was in error, I chatted with a rep online. I explained to him that since my account is zero, I should not be charged with an interest of $25.00. He responded by saying that I have to have my account current for two months and then they will not charge any interest. I,then, proceeded to complain and asked if they would waiver the charge being that I have been a customer for years. No go at that. I was stuck with a charge of $25 extra for a $20 purchase of gas. Worse than a loan shark if you ask me but I am not going to give up. I will complain to the higher ups and if necessary put it online for all to see---Be careful with Capital one.Worse credit card company in America. Oh well, that's my rant for the day. I threatened to end my business with them so if there is a better credit card, I am all ears. Any suggestions?

I had that issue with Discover once. I called and talked to a manager, told him that I had requested a balance payoff WITH interest and paid what I was told, then they charged me interest again. I told them I was in Kansas City and not home, but if he insisted I would cancel the card right there on the spot (after being a member for 23 years), find an Office Depot, and shred the card as soon as I got off the phone. Interest balance disappeared immediately. Good luck.

I can't remember for sure but I think that's the one that my daughter had a similar problem with. They kept adding charges of this kind and that when she didn't want the card any more. I don't remember how she finally handled it, either, so I'm not of much help, but if I were you, I would be looking for another card immediately. There are sites online where you can compare credit cards to get what suits you best.

I used to have a capital one credit card and I paid it off and cut it up and threw it away. I think it was because of the high interest.
