Two Churches for My Departed Relatives

Yesterday, my husband and I went to two churches near us to make a list of the departed relatives, whose names will be prayed over in masses during the celebration of All Soul's Day on November 2. We do it yearly. The names of five dead close family members are listed on the outside part of a little envelope, and inside you will put whatever amount of donation you wanted to give. I think if you have no money to share, just give the list because the envelop was being dropped at the drop box inside the church premises. Aside from submitting their names, we also light candles for them on All Soul's Day.

We do that, too. Well, my siblings do that in Pinas. I have not done that here in Germany but just visit the graves of my in laws.

We always do that, plus visit the graves of relatives on November 1 or 2.

I'm not really sure if people are praying for the people listed on the envelop. We might do that on the 31st and then Nov. 1st.

Well if they will not pray, then they should be guilty of scamming people!

It is one of the traditions here, for Roman Catholics.
