Can't Escape!

When we moved two months ago we thought we had left the feral cats behind.
We thought we were safe.
We thought we were free.
We were wrong.
There's a fluffy, gray critter that's discovered our RV. More importantly, he's discovered that when I sweep, little bits of food will come flying out of our rig.
So he sticks around for the scraps, even going so far as to yowl at us in the wee hours of the morn for some "crumbs".
I'd be tempted to take him with us when we leave except...he's not friendly. We can't get close to him without him darting away.
He truly is a feral.
Poor little freeloader...I wonder why he isn't out catching rats?

We adopted the stray cat at our old home. He came up to me first (I'm terrified of cats) but he was so sweet! He kissed/licked me and purred on me. I realized he was not a scary cat and our kids fell in love with him too so we took him in. =)
He would meow outside our door for food and water too.

@Genipher Yes we have Pebbles. I could not keep any cat that scratches my kids-that is why I have never liked cats before, they are usually tempermental. Pebbles isn't though. When Julian (18 months) pulls his tail or pulls on his paw he literally just meows! I know Julian is probably messing with him so I get him away from Pebbles but he never ever hurts him-which definitely surprises me...
I tell Julian all the time if I was that cat I probably would bite or scratch you! Lol.

What a good cat!
Yeah, I was starting to cave and consider the idea of buying some cat food but now that it has scratched....
Oh, and a few minutes ago the kids left the door open and the cat came into the RV. Cheeky fella!

Interesting... Wanting you to continue to feed him, but not wanting you to get close. Maybe he has had bad experiences trying to catch Rats?

Better you use some flat metal surfaces to pick up such things after the sweep is over.

That sounds scary!
I've actually never seen a rat
There has been plenty of mice, though.
Our hosts told us that there are rats out here so I just assumed the cat would feast on them. Or maybe he HAS eaten them and now he's run out of game to hunt...?
