This news had been a national headline in Japan around 2009 but it was never globally viral. The wife of the then Japanese Prime minister said she had been abducted by aliens.
I just found out that alien stuff had been a norm in Japanese Primetime news. Now I want to learn some Japanese so I can watch Anime directly from Japan and watch their alien related news. Japanese news also have high positioned Politicians acknowledging the existence of Aliens and a footage of Aliens abducting cows.

People report these things all the time, but it's usually not taken seriously by the news... you would think a politician would be an attention grabber for news stations everywhere, but it usually doesn't. When the former Canadian defense minister Paul hellyer admitted to the existence of aliens, he didn't really pop up everywhere either. There was also a leader in one of russia's neighboring countries (I can't remember which or what the guys name was) who spoke of his interactions with aliens and that didn't pop up everywhere either. It's a very suppressed topic even though it's an answer to one of Earths biggest questions.

Wow - I never knew this! I'll have to ask my parents if they've heard anything about this in the Japanese papers. If this hasn't hit the news, it's probably more that they want to keep it hush-hush to keep her credibility. I'll have to see what more I can read up on this . . . apparently she was part of a famous theatrical troup in her younger days - I didn't know about that either!
