Papa John's Chief Executive Officer and Founder John Schnatter on Wednesday is crying the blues that the leadership of the National Football League (NFL) has harmed his sales of his pizza franchise since the NFL powers that be have not nipped in the bud the football players who are protesting racial inequality and police brutality by raising their fist in the air, sitting or kneeling during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner. Since Papa John's is the sponsor of the NFL since 2010, the boycott from the fans against the protesters has harmed the sales of his pizzas as well as the pocketbooks of businesses that sponsor the league with nearly empty stadiums. I look at this way, if I were Schnatter, I would pull my ads from the NFL fast. Since Commissioner Roger Goodell is telling the fans who pay the salary of the football players to understand the protests of the football players instead of being with the fans. One rule of thumb is the entertainment business is "Give the fans what they want."
