Mean Mom

No doubt that is what she is thinking right now. It is late and we are still working. Not that she has done a lot, been sitting here trying to be patient. One page of math done and still doing the same page in LA. She had to read two short stories and tell what point of view they are from and write examples to prove so. Well we are into the 4th hour of it. I'm not giving in but man I'm getting grumpy! . What is getting me is she isn't even trying, so I told her until she does no TV and that we will sit here until her dad comes home, yes I'm a mean mom.

Do you give her an hour per subject? Like in school or how does that work?

You get a day of work for each class, sometimes it can be 1/2 hour some more. Usually no more then 1 1/2 hours. However my dear daughter just hates the reading and sometimes the writing. Now she understands it all. Like if I was to read it to her and have her do the sheets and such we would probably get each class done in no time. That however is not going to help her get better in her reading. Today a few of the sections only took like 15 minutes, til we got to having to read. Granted some of it is boring, but needs to be done. *sigh*

No, you are not being mean! Instead, you are putting your foot down, making her do what has to be done. I'd take away TV every single day, until all her online work is finished. If she doesn't finish, there'd be no TV at all that day. That's called 'tough love.' She's no longer calling the shots, instead you are.

I have always called the shots however did allow it on as a background noise as she usually does better with it. However since she keeps going so slow I told her nope. Hoping that she will start doing it and then we can discuss this background noise. She isn't thrilled that I told her we will be working some tomorrow to. Ohh well apply apply apply and we wouldn't have to.

@kobesbuddy Exactly and we could be done in like 5 hours instead of an all day/night thing.

@Ithink She has to learn to put her entire focus, on the school lessons. Then, television can be used, as a reward.
