The popular pizza chain Domino Pizza was founded in 1960 and today can be found in 14,200 locations. Now being that New York City is my hometown my love of pizza began with super tasty New York style pizza. When I was a child there were still many pizza places that made theirs in wood-burning ovens and it was fantastic. So I didn’t even try Domino Pizza until sometime in the late 1970s and found that it was alright to have now and then because they offered all kinds of special deals. Domino Pizza opened their first store near the Eastern Michigan University campus in Ypsilanti, Michigan in 1960. Their plan was to deliver pizza to all of those hungry students on campus. The idea of having an inexpensive pizza delivered to their doorstep pleased many people and they perfected it by making the delivery in 30 minutes or less.
