Super Mario Brothers The Movie in the planning stages

Illumination Entertainment which brought us the "Despicable Me" and "Minions" movies are in talks with Nintendo to use the Super Mario Brothers characters to make an animated movie.
There was a movie made with the Super Mario Brothers characters in a live action movie by Disney Studios in 1993 with Bob Hoskins as Mario and John Leguizamo as Luigi which tanked in the box office.
It would be nice to see Mario and Luigi in an animated movie since they are cool characters that are very popular on video games.

I used to play the Mario Brothers games on the Nintendo game system years ago, They are great.

I love Mario Bros. I remember it from my childhood when I used to play Mario family computer games.
Am not sure about a movie though. But I do watch animated films once in a while.
