If anybody asked you, What did you have for breakfast this morning? would you draw a blank?

Why does it matter what we had to eat that morning anyway? Well, it all goes back to the times when what we ate really mattered. But I imagine more people today are having a bowl of Monsanto cereal with Soy milk and don't even know how to flip a few hen eggs in a skillet or for that matter know how to milk a cow.
I heard it from a grocery store manager. He told me today that, in his own words, people don't buy meringue powder for making light frosting because there is no demand for it because most people don't even cook these days and want everything instant or frozen or canned or order fast food take out.
For me, I am still old school. I do remember what I had for breakfast because what I eat every day does matter. And it is usually pretty good food. If I forget it isn't because of memory loss but rather, because I don't want to remember it. like the same-o-same-old eggs and toast thing with orange juice and a bit of jam.
If you think you might want to make some frosting why not look at the link from Walmart below about meringue powder. It's a thing that people who know how to cook at home like to buy.
Just realized, I didn't have breakfast this morning. I waited until later on in the day and it was an interesting lunch to be honest. Bologna on cracked wheat with oats and Hellmann's mayonnaise with sliced organic Roma tomatoes and black pepper and sea salt with bacon flavored Ritz crackers and a 12 oz. bottle of very cold Dr. Pepper. Yea. It was okay.

I can tell you what I had, nothing. I don't normally eat breakfast and if I do it is normally the weekend when we have more time, and then yes it is eggs from our chickens, with sausage that we made, along with some toast.
I have never heard of that powder, why wouldn't you just make your own?

It requires certain ingredients not readily available, like cream of tarter and it is mixed in exact proportions along with other things that make it difficult to make yourself. It sells for about 8 dollars to 15 dollars for 4oz to 8oz packages.

I wouldn't draw a blank most definitely. I haven't had breakfast yet but it will most likely be a cup of black coffee, scrambled eggs, and two pieces of wheat bread.

Well, I had two strips of fried bacon, two scrambled eggs, one single buttermilk biscuit, pepper gravy and a cup of strong coffee with sugar and cream and on the side a bit of blackberry preserves.

Guilty as charged and never used meringue powder before.
I do think some frozen or canned foods are convenient but can't be compared with homemade, for sure.

If not for the fact my wife knows the recipe to use it I would be missing out on this particular delightful and sweet luxury as a cake icing on a white cake that is much better than even butter cream frosting in my opinion.

It is usually incorporated in making party cakes or wedding cakes that might otherwise incorporate the butter cream frosting instead.
