The Georgia Dome which was the home of the National Football League Atlanta Falcons was imploded on Monday morning by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority. The Georgia Dome opened in 1992. The reason the Georgia Dome was imploded was due to the Mercedes Benz Stadium which is 83 feet away from the original stadium. The Mercedes Benz Stadium is the home field of the Atlanta Falcons and the Major Soccer League team the Atlanta United. Think about this. A domed stadium in Atlanta only last 25 years while the Louisiana Superdome or as it is called right now The Mercedes Benz Superdome which was opened in 1975 is still standing. Go figure.

I know what you mean. At least the Louisiana Superdome is still around since 1975 even though it was renovated.

It's crazy to imagine, why a football stadium would only be good for 25 years! LOL
