Favorite Side Projects #9 - Lucyfire

Side projects is the theme of this particular music countdown: bands started by musicians from established bands, mostly as an outlet for material that doesn't fit their regular band. Such is the case with #9 in this series: Lucyfire.
Lucyfire is a side project of Johan Edlund, leader and vocalist for Stockholm, Sweden's goth/goth metal band Tiamat. Edlund started Lucyfire to get his non-goth stuff out there.
Oddly, the 2001 album, This Dollar Saved My Life at Whitehorse, is Lucyfire's only album to date. It is a record full of a more straightforward rock sound.
The song that I've linked to, "Automatic," is just such a song, a guitar-heavy rocker that would actually be a perfect song for goth/industrial band James Ray's Gangwar, despite it's decidedly non-goth sound.

I hear some goth in this as well and like when solid musicians do side bands, they always seem to come up with some interesting stuff. Cool song buddy.
