Did You Find Any Good Black Friday Deals?

Today is the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S., which is known as "Black Friday." Did any of you find any good deals today? I didn't. I didn't leave my house to go looking for any, though. But I did look online, and was sorely disappointed because nothing I wanted was on sale. I was going to order a sweatshirt from my favorite band's webstore, because everything is 25% off today, plus they advertised free shipping in the U.S. They also advertised up to 60% off select items, and $10 t-shirts...but I didn't see any such thing listed on their website. Anyway, it turns out you have to order $50 worth of merchandise to qualify for free shipping. I had no intention of blowing that much money. But once shipping -- even the cheapest option -- is added on to the total, I might as well just add on another item and get the free shipping. I ended up deciding not to order anything. I really would love to have that sweatshirt, and I'm in need of a new one, but not for that much. Maybe my boyfriend will get it for me for Christmas. I'll send him a link to it and let him know I have my eye on it. I just can't justify spending that much on myself right now. (But then I feel guilty asking him to blow that much on a sweatshirt plus outrageous shipping also.) Once you add on shipping, some of these "deals" really aren't such good deals at all. I did order a couple Christmas gifts from Amazon, but one was only $2 cheaper than it's regular price and the other wasn't on sale at all. I'll check around again on Cyber Monday and see if there are any better deals online. I honestly don't know why people make such a fuss over Black Friday, as I noticed over a decade ago that most the stuff I ended up buying when I went out early that day, weren't even things that were on sale. And the stuff that is marked down, usually isn't that great. I guess if something you really need is on sale, I could see braving the crowds, but otherwise I would just skip it. People are nuts on Black Friday, and I'd just rather not deal with them. Did you score any good deals today? Did you shop online or brave the crowds this morning?

Good for you! I wish we would all boycott it. I only ordered a couple things on Amazon because I needed to get Christmas gifts for my sister and dad anyway.

I had to work yesterday. However, I did go to Walmart after I got out of work to pick up an order and bring my sister to get her husband's medications. The store wasn't too bad. I thought it would be much worse. Probably was in the early morning though.

@Srbageldog I have a few things to pick up at Walmart, but decided to wait until next week. Not going near that crazy house.

@ElusiveButterfly I certainly don't blame you. Although I suppose it will be crazy in there from now until after Christmas.

That's good it wasn't too bad when you went in there. I have ventured into Walmart on Black Friday before and it was a madhouse. But then it was earlier in the morning.

There really aren't that many good deals on Black Friday anyway. I think it is way over-hyped.

The sale on this site ends on Monday at midnight (or would it be Tuesday?) so I don't think they're going to offer a better deal than that, unfortunately.

Right?? My boyfriend worked at Walmart (in the electronic's department) for 6 years when he was in his 20s; he always says that the super-cheap TVs, DVD players, and other electronics they get for Black Friday are brands that they ONLY get for Black Friday, and they fall apart within a week. The display model TVs would go out before the week was out whenever they had them in. So it's pretty much like throwing your money away to buy a cheap TV from Walmart on Black Friday. Might as well save up and buy a better one.
